| Pedigree "... I really like the naive quality of the drawing. I think it makes it feel like a parable out of a political nursery story book. The division into three panels is brilliant!"- Kenney Mencher, (Artist) Palo Alto, California Pedigree I keep waiting to comment, because I feel I am trying to read too much into it.. and I have the sense that it's there. I have an idea of what I think the piece is about, but it's not all coming together for me..or I'm trying too much into it. Maybe that's a good thing. I'm not sure if I had mentioned this in the past, but I like how these pieces look like they could be interchanged with the other [triptychs]...The division also allows for a focus on the parts as well as the whole which invites a longer searching of the painting. To be critical, I'm not crazy about the color. On one hand, I see how it ties the different totems together and creates a sense of unity. Yet, I'm just not that fond of the brown.. my personal preference..." -Dean, (Art Crit) Boston Pedigree "I have to say I really like the color. The first thought I had was Alice in wonderland. This reminds me of the art work in the book I read as a kid." -Kelly Caldwell, (Digital Artist) The Art Crit Pedigree A shout echoed around the land, across the Castle, London Town, Buckingham Palace and the Tilbury sand. ”Who will walk my dogs, my pets,” the Queen, Her Majesty Elizabeth was heard to say. She looked around, looked distressed as the official walker of the animal was sick with flu that day. From somewhere in the gardens, perhaps just past the trees, the perfect Persian cat rose up, pumped up chest with pride, and dusted down her fur and knees. The cat called 'Mona Lisa' took the lead of some Royal mutts and quickly did a strut, past the soldiers on the gates, past the 'Green Man' pub as if it were too late. Then the mutt in front played up enough to send Mona Lisa into a spin as it knew this was something new and wondered what would begin. Others looked around as if a sound caught them unaware and really wanted only to rest with beer, table lamp and an old rocking chair. But feline Mona Lisa drove them on with her will of sharp Sheffield Steel and the Queen Elizabeth , in all her wisdom, thought the cat had done a good deed. Well , worth an honour, a medal for all to see, and see it many did. The Official Watchers watched as 'Mona Lisa' walked the dogs from Tower Place and Cutty Sark, the tall ship. And Mona Lisa did fine that day while the real walker coughed and stayed in bed. “A day to remember PEDIGREE or where we are from,” the kindly Queen said. ”It that elusive stuff inside that is worth far more than gold. Remember it well. I do, as this is the only CAT to ever do as it's told. Hurrah for Mona Lisa. Hurrah for true worth. ” -Cleveland W. Gibson, (Author of Billabongo) Faringdon, Oxon, United Kingdom |
